Vulture: See Long-Lost Shots of the Rolling Stones in the Exile on Main St. Era

This year marks two anniversaries for the Rolling Stones: It's the band's 50th birthday (apparently in music, 50 is the logo anniversary), and the 40th anniversary of the release of their seminal double album, Exile on Main St. To mark the occasion, in August Chronicle Books will be releasing The Rolling Stones 1972, a collection of photos taken by the legendary, shot-everyone rock photographer Jim Marshall while the band was putting the finishing touches on Exile in Los Angeles and during their subsequent tour.
